guest starring...

Oceanside has made a cameo appearance tonight!

Thursday evenings in Oceanside are full of chatter, background noise, and scents of food everywhere!

The street fair is a regular event happening each week.

Crowds congregate amidst fair type foods including sweets and BBQ!

There are booths laid out into a double-sided cross pattern.

There you will find stained glass vendors, War
Veterans selling their memoirs, Disney Pin Traders, Cupcakeries, Roasted Corn movers, Scent sellers, clothing retailers, and around every corner; color!
It was a fun filled evening, spent with my husband! I would highly recommend it!

chocolate milk to start the day...now all I want is a shot

Today the company I work for had inventory.

It actually started last night, but I only participated in two of the ones that happened today.

The first one went swimmingly. I had a chocolate milk, trail mix, and a blueberry muffin. I followed that with some key-punched numbers and a 2.5 hour finish time.

Not bad! ;)

Next I ran an errand, came home for a bit and then headed out to do the second inventory.

If I knew how it was going to turn out, I would have just stayed home.

The second inventory started at 12:00 noon and did not finish until 6:15!

EEEWWWWWW!

I was not planning on spending my WHOLE day doing work stuff! I even had to miss a party I had promised to attend.

One good thing came out of this and that is a HUGE lesson learned for next year: bring in more troops!

Oh well...It is only once a year!

Good evening Carlsbad!

So this bear walks onto a train...

I boarded the train at the Carlsbad Poinsettia Station yesterday, for the Cubs and Padres game.

I was invited to attend the game with some co-workers. We were gifted 20 tickets to the Toyota Suite, all inclusive! It was awesome! I had drinks and food. We had killer seats and I even got us all on TV!

I cannot say if it was my winning smile and boisterous cheering, or the fact that I was wearing a bear suit that got us on the jumbo tron, but whatever the reason...everyone was thankful!

I was dancing and cheering and watching the camera guys and I could hear the noise level around me starting to elevate. I kept at it, sure that they could hear us all now! All of the sudden, the noise rose even louder and BAM!, there I was on the screen and the whole crowd was cheering too! It was awesome

After the game, as we walked to the trolley station I was amid choruses of, "hey bear, we saw you on t.v!"

Truth be told, this Carlsbadite had a fun night.

Do you know the difference between a raven and a writing desk?

Almost Alice was an amazing showing of artwork by Maggie Taylor.
The pieces in this show are filled with magical and enchanting scenes relating to the beloved  Lewis Carroll story of a little girl in an upside down and backward world. .

The show began on July 17, with a Mad Hatter style Tea Party artist's reception and ended September 9th. It was hosted at the William D Cannon Art Gallery, just outside the Dove Library. I had the good fortune of seeing it more than once.

Her whimsical illustrations were featured in a version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Many versions of Alice's journey have been written and told over the years.

If it has been a while since you have read it, you should allow yourself the guilty pleasure of the nonsense and fun of Wonderland.

If you have the chance, do not miss seeing her work.

A wise guy, eh???

I am a place where, once you are here, I can lead you to most any place in existence or not!

There are old friends here, and new.

I exist in many places, at once!

Is there a doctor in the house?

I really love my doctor.

He practices here in the heart of downtown Carlsbad, in a quaint two doctor practice he shares with his wife.

He is kind and listens to me when I speak.

He has a knack for medicine. He understands and leans toward alternative treatments.

I will survive my malady, this time :)

I just wanted to give a holler to the man who makes many of us Carlsbad residents feel better!

Many thanks, Dr. Ajir.
